On the evening before the conference (Sunday 14th June 2009) there will be a buffet reception in the Winter Garden, located in the heart of the city. The building is one of the largest temperate glass houses in the UK, and houses over 2,500 plants from around the world. The Millenium Gallery is adjacent to the Winter Garden, and is until 5pm every day.
The Winter Garden is on Surrey Street, which can be accessed by foot from Arundel Gate if you are walking from the bus or train station. See page 4 of the University's Map Pack for details.
On the second evening of the conference (Tuesday 16th June 2009) the conference banquet will be held in Hassop Hall in the peak district. Hassop Hall is located in the picturesque hamlet of Hassop, near Bakewell, and is set in beautiful gardens and rolling parkland. The history of Hassop Hall reaches back over 900 years to the time of the Domesday Book.
