11th - 13th June 2007 at The University of Sheffield, UK.

On the evening before the conference (Sunday 10th June 2007) there will be a buffet reception in the Kelham Island Museum, located in one of Sheffield's oldest industrial districts. Kelham Island Museum was opened in 1982 to house the objects, pictures and archive material representing Sheffield's industrial story. The displays at the Museum tell that story from the "Little Mester" to mass production, skilled workers, revolutionary processes, quality products, invention and innovation. The reception will give the opportunity to witness the most powerful working steam engine remaining in Europe, The River Don Engine, "in steam" whilst enjoying a pint of one of the award-winning beers from the Kelham Island Brewery.
The Museum is on Alma Street which may be found at the top-right of the Central Sheffield map in the University's Map Pack. A Multimap gives better detail.

On the first evening of the conference (Monday 10th June 2007) the conference banquet will be held in the Cutlers' Hall in Sheffield, regarded as one of the finest Livery Halls in the North of England. The elegant grade II listed building dates from 1638 and its richly decorated rooms will give a unique atmosphere to the dinner. It is one of Sheffield’s finest buildings, presenting a handsome dignified Grecian exterior; internally, an unexpectedly opulent and extensive sequence of rooms, a showcase for assembly, display, feasting and entertainment – the annual Cutlers’ Feast is the opportunity for local business to meet and influence the wider political and commercial world.
